- Stewards' reasoning
- The penalty is imposed in accordance to with Article 23.3 b) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. This Penalty under Article 23.3 b), does not change the fact that the competitor will be placed on the grid in accordance with Article 35.1 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations as per document 22, failure to set a time in qualifying.
