Why so few points in 2026?

Under the tightened Driving Standards Guidelines, the stewards have almost stopped issuing penalty points in 2026 - handing down time penalties instead. That's why most of the grid sits on zero. Points still matter: they roll over a trailing 12 months, and 12 of them still means an automatic race ban - so the tracker stays.
