- Stewards' reasoning
- The penalty is imposed in accordance with Articles B3.5.3 and B8.2.8 of the FIA F1 Regulations. The use of each additional PU element in this case normally carries a 5 grid place penalty. However, Oracle Red Bull Racing changed the setup of the suspension of Hadjar under parc fermé before the start of the Race, without the approval of the Technical Delegate. This is not accordance with Article B3.5.4 of the FIA F1 Regulations. In addition, the change of setup is not in accordance with Article B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Hadjar is therefore required to start the Race from pit lane as per Article B3.5.3b of the FIA F1 Regulations and the grid drop penalty is redundant.
