- Stewards' reasoning
- The Stewards heard from Russell (George Russell), team representative and video, timing, team radio and in-car video evidence. Russell left the track at Turn 5 to make way for an incoming car, but re- joined the track without staying to the right of the bollard in the runoff area. The driver stated during the hearing that he stayed to the left of the bollard to re-join earlier because he was worrying about impeding the car behind. However, the driver admitted that he could have gone around the bollard. The Stewards acknowledge that the driver acted in good faith, but determine that it would have been possible for him to take the prescribed route.
