- Stewards' reasoning
- The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and in-car video evidence. Verstappen was gaining on Russell on the approach to Turn 12, and had a significant portion of the car alongside Russell at the apex. The driver of Russell appeared not to expect Verstappen to overtake in the turn and subsequently, in turning into the corner, collided with Verstappen.
